Alan Vermilyea, Sr.

Alan Vermilyea, 78, passed Sunday April 3, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Alan was born in Troy, NY the son of the late Eugene and Elizabeth Vermilyea and was a lifelong area resident. Alan was married to his late wife, Mary Margaret "Peggy" for 48 years. Alan was manager of Grand Union Supermarkets for over 40 years.
He is survived by their children: Peggy Vermilyea, Annette Vermilyea, Jacqueline Morelli, Alan Vermilyea, Jr. and George (Melissa) Vermilyea, grandchildren: Jacob LaPierre, George Jr., Courtney and Elizabeth Vermilyea.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valley View Blvd, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
