GUILDERLAND---- Alan R. Zlomek, age 66, passed away on March 16, 2022 surrounded by his loving wife & family. He was born in Hudson, NY the son of the late John and Susan Zlomek.
Alan was born on June 19, 1955 in Hudson, NY, he graduated from Hudson high School in 1973 & Syracuse University in 1977. Alan received his master's degree from Rockefeller College in Albany, NY in Political Science.
Alan worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigations in Washington, DC before working for the NY State Department of Civil Service, where he recently retired.
During this time Al met and married the love of his life Antonietta (Toni) who he loved and was devoted to for 31 years. Al loved Halloween and was a huge Batman fan never missing the opportunity to dress up and go trick or treating with his nieces and nephews. Always bringing joy to all the kids Al also had a love for football never missing the chance to watch the NY Giants play. He also enjoyed rides in his corvette and working out daily.
Alan was predeceased by his parents: John & Susan (Mazure) Zlomek; niece, LeeAnn Zlomek, his brother-in-law Robert Shumsky and his father-in-law Giuseppe Greco.
Alan is survived by his wife, Antonietta Zlomek; siblings: David (Barbara) Zlomek, Belmont, NY, Susan (John) Kitsock, Schenectady, NY, Eva Shumsky, Youngsville, NC, Bernie (Linda) Zlomek, Frostburg, MD, Ellen (Steve) DeStefano, Bow, NH; Mother-in-law, Maria Greco, Albany, NY; Sister-in-laws: Giuseppina Greco (Marcello) Italy, Anna Fedele (Placido) Albany, NY, Gina Greco (Duane), New Windsor, NY and brother-in-law Nino Greco, Albany, NY. Alan is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Al's bright smile will be forever missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Friday March 25, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Saturday March 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Avenue, Albany, NY 12203. Entombment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
