Alana Harris

Alana Harris, 33, a radiant spirit whose  ever-present smile touched hearts of everyone she met, was born on June 7, 1991, in Albany. It is with profound sadness that we announce her untimely passing after a 3 year battle with cancer at home on October 17, 2024. 

She was a graduate of the Albany City School District, and most recently worked as a CNA at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation center.  

Alana enjoyed life, hers was filled with warmth and laughter. She embraced her role as a mother to her beloved daughter, Lyniyah Nicoel Annette Harris, cherishing every moment they spent together watching movies or embarking on shopping adventures. Their bond was unbreakable.

Alana was also deeply connected to her roots and family, often traveling to visit loved ones. She treasured her relationships and held them dear to her heart. She is survived by her loving parents, Nicoel Harris, Curtis Nuness and Celestine Dukes, paternal grandmother Flaura Nuness, her siblings, Tyson Nuness, Tyshauna Cade, and Curtis Nuness Jr. as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends and her cat Garfield.

In celebration of Alana’s life, a visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals in Colonie, NY, on October 27, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This gathering offers an opportunity for family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Alana to come together in remembrance and honor of the beautiful impact she made during her time with us.

Alana Harris may have departed this world, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be missed.
