Albert A. Danckert "Bud", 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2010 surrounded by his loving family.
Albert was born in Albany to the late Albert and E. Marie Danckert. He was a graduate of Albany High, Bud served in WWII with the Third Air force and was an active member of the Bethlehem Elks serving as many chairs and now is a member of the Colonie Elks #2192. Bud is also a lifetime member of the Onesquathaw Fire Company. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son, Anthony "Tony" Danckert and his granddaughter.
Albert is the beloved husband of Nevada Morrison Danckert of 65 years; he is the loving father of Lana (Reed Settle) Padelsky, Judy (Robert) Appleby, Joan (Jay) Wyche, Rita (Martin) Hogan, Mary (Jerry) Collins, Paul (Amy) Danckert, Krina Danckert and Karl Danckert. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, at 10:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2:00 to 6:00 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery, Albany. In lieu of flowers friends may make contributions to the Onesquathaw Fire Company PO Box E, Clarksville, NY 12041 or to the Tony Danckert Scholarship fund c/o Trustco Bank 167 Delaware Ave. Elsmere, NY 12054. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Community Hospice of Albany, St. Peters and to Kim Zwack and Kashaine Barnes for their care and support during a difficult time.
