Albert "Al"R. Miller

Colonie- Albert R. Miller passed away on September 13, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 88 years old.
The son of the late Albert B. and Helena (Bair) Miller, Al was born on May 27, 1927 in Olean, New York. He graduated from RIT with a degree in Mechanical Design. Al worked for Kodak and then General Electric as a Draftsman for 46 years until his retirement in 1996.
He was a member and officer of Hart Social and active member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Colonie. Al was a talented artist and woodworker, often making wooden toys for his grandchildren.
Albert is survived by his children: David R. Miller (Joy), Debra Mearns (David), Dawn Peplowski (Stephen), and Cheryl Kean (Bruce); his grandchildren: Sean, Jennifer, Aaron (Ashley), Brian (Melissa), Krysta, Jesse (Megan), Brett, Sarah, Ali, Jonathan, Andrew; 3 great-grandchildren and his dear cousin Catherine.
In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by his wife of 46 years Marguerite "Peg" Miller.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday September 17 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, September 18 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
