TROY – Albert Arthur Fitch Sr., 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Al was born on November 3, 1935 in Cohoes and was the son of the late Charles David and Elizabeth Margaret (Dwyer) Fitch. He served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, an avid bowler, loved doing puzzles, going to Friendly's for a bite to eat - especially having a sundae, and spending time with family especially his brother Tom and his children.
Al is survived by his children, Teresa (Ricky), Albert Jr. (Allison), Charles (Solan) and Patricia; his grandchildren, Christopher, Morgan, Katie, Tara, McCartney and Donna; his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas M. and Mary E. Fitch and their children, Thomas Jr., MaryBeth (Joe), Arthur (Alan), William (Shelly), John (Dar), Michael (Kerry), Elizabeth, Jennifer, Meghan (Eric), Stephen (Lisa) and Jude (TJ); his favorite cousin, Alberta (Dick) Nowhitney and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Helen, Pearl, John, Julia, Charles, Oliver, Dorothy, Herbert, Robert and Marie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua Shrine Church, 28 State Street, Troy. Inurnment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
