Albert R. Burkhart Jr.

Valatie- Albert R. Burkhart Jr., 87, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024. Born in New Rochelle, NY he was the son of the late Albert Sr. and Alice Burkhart. Albert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helga M. Burkhart.

Albert was a member of the Northern Columbia Lions Club. He was also an Auxiliary member of Columbia Memorial Hospital and a volunteer at the Shaker Museum in Chatham. Albert enjoyed wood carving. Angels were his specialty.

In addition to his wife, Albert is survived by his two children, Kristina Reilly (Kevin) and Cally Burkhart and his daughter in law, Sandy Burkhart. He will also be missed by his six grandchildren, Brian, Catie, Martha, Charlie, Emma and Albert IV. He is also survived by his brother Robert Burkhart (Kathy) as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Albert is predeceased by his son Albert R. Burkhart III and his siblings Joan Pandolfi and Charles Burkhart.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 11am-1pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service will begin at 1pm.
