GUILDERLAND – Albert W. "Bill" Ebert Jr., 101, of Guilderland, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 19, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Andrea in 2019; his infant brother, Frederick and his sister, Glendora Jacobson.
He was born in Waterford on June 26, 1920 a son of the late Albert W. and Gertrude (Frederick) Ebert, Sr. He graduated from Altamont High School and attended Columbia College.
Bill started out his long work career on his family's dairy farm; the only one in existence in Guilderland. Over the years that followed, Bill worked many jobs, while liking them all, his final and favorite was working as a maintenance engineer for Otis Elevator for over twenty-five years. He retired in 1986.
During his retirement, Bill enjoyed traveling with his late wife, Andrea. They were able to visit Hawaii in 1987. He also enjoyed golfing, sailing on his boat and reading, especially about history. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed being at home with his family - they were the center of his life.
He is survived by his daughters, Ella Mae Ebert (Paul), Cheryl D. Hotaling (Keith) and Bonnie L. Draisey (Steve); his grandchildren, Louis W. (Bobbi Jo) Beaton, Dawn (Mark) Smith, Sherry (Vince) Deliso and Jennifer Draisey; his great-grandchildren, Josh (Kim) Smith-Meyer, Mikala (Hussan) Abdulmagid, and Charles Deliso. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am with a celebration of life to immediately follow at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.
