Albert J. Miller, Sr.

COLONIE, NY – Albert J. Miller, Sr., 91, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2010 after a brief illness. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Albert F. and Mary E. Miller. Mr. Miller was a resident of Colonie since 1949. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving his country during World War II. Albert worked for the New York State Dept. of Taxation & Finance before retiring in 1979. He was a life member of the Men's Garden Club of Albany and Gardener's of America. He started the Gardening from the Heart Program twenty five years ago at the Center for Disability Services. Albert was the beloved husband of the late Barbara B. Miller. He is the devoted father of Albert J. (Suzanne) Miller, Jr. of Colonie and Janice K. Pryor of East Greenbush. He is the cherished grandfather of Richard and Carol Miller and Stephen Pryor, Kristin Twitchell and Jerilyn Pryor. Albert is the loving great-grandfather of Jeffrey Washburn, Amanda and Andrew Twitchell and Stephen J. and Riley Pryor.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Christ Our Light Catholic Church (formerly St. Francis de Sales) Loudonville. Calling hours will be Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie.
