Albert Vrooman

COLONIE- Albert J. Vrooman, 74, of Colonie, passed away on Monday June 20, 2005 at St. Peters Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late Loran and Edna Vrooman.
Al was a twenty year veteran of the US Air Force having served during Korean War and Vietnam, retiring as a Tech Sgt. He worked for several years at Sears & Roebuck and was a former Captain with Civil Air Patrol Composite Squad, stationed at Stratton Air Base. He is the last male member of his immediate Vrooman family which immigrated to the Capital District area in 1697. He was a member of VFW Post 8692.
Al is survived by his beloved wife, Carole Tracey Vrooman; his daughters, Paige Guido of Guilderland and Allison Young of Delmar; his son, Staff Sgt. Michael Tracey, USMC; step son, Joseph Gilligan, RN of Troy and his grandchildren, Jack Riley, Alexis Young and Mitchell Young.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday morning at 9:30 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie ( Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). There will be no calling hours. Interment with military honors will be at Memorys Garden.
