Albany- Alberta Hans, passed away on Monday March 3, 2008 at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Born in Brooklyn, NY December 15, 1925 and grew up in Glendale, NY on Long Island. She was the daughter of the late William and Barbara Partsarge. She resided in Colonie since 1948, the year of her marriage to her loving husband, the late Philip J. Hans, Sr.
Alberta was a secretary in New York City for 6 six years prior to locating in Colonie and in this area for many years, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed skiing, gardening, cooking, bowling and most of all golf. For 36 years she was a member of Western Turnpike Golf Course.
She is the devoted mother of Philip J. Hans, Jr. and his wife Roberta of Altamont, she was predeceased by her son William R. Hans and survived by her daughter-in-law A. Geri Hans of Colonie. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Philip J. III and Jennifer Anne, children of Philip J. Jr. and Corey-Lynn and Jill Elizabeth, children of William and Geri. Alberta is also survived by her twin sister Barbara Faha and her husband George of Melville, NY on Long Island and many, nieces and nephews. Alberta and Barbara were not only twins but the best of friends and that relationship flourished more and more as the years passed.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:30am from New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.) then to St. Frances de Sales Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am. Calling hours are Friday 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Frances de Sales Church, 1 Maria Dr., Loudonville, NY 12211
