Albany- Alberta L. Fischer, 81, died on Monday, May 9, 2005, at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Elnora, NY she was the daughter of the late James and Rita Gourlay. A homemaker all her life, Alberta loved her family and friends. She would enjoy entertaining them with music, playing the guitar, and cooking. She was a caregiver to everyone. Alberta was such a light spirited person who was happy, jovial, and could always be found telling a joke or two. She is predeceased by two husbands; Leonard Russo, and Charles L. Fischer, and eight brothers and sisters; Elvira, George, James, Frances, Ken, Agnes, Dorothy, and Robert.
Alberta leaves behind to cherish her memory seven children; Patty, Tonie (Butch), Diane (Duke), Joan, Lenny, Elaine (Dave), and Laurie (Adam), six grandchildren; Robin (David), Jim (Sheila), Jeff (Regina), Julie, Matthew, and Douglas, and eight great-grandchildren; Zachary, Jacob, Hayley, Adam, Ryan, Lynzi, Benjamin, Morgan, Matthew, and Douglas. Her brother Arnold, her sister Gladys (Jack) and many nieces and nephews also survive.
There will be no viewing. Family and Friends are invited to attend a memorial service which will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.).
