Alda M. Casey

Casey, Alda M. GUILDERLAND Alda M. Casey (Grandma Casey), 89, of Guilderland, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2008, surrounded by her loving family at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Fortunato and Angelina Danese Casarotto. Alda was a millinery specialist at the former Muhlfelder's and Flah's department stores in Albany. She retired from Sterling Winthrop Research in Rensselaer after 18 years of service. Alda enjoyed cooking and spending time with her cherished grandchildren. She is the beloved mother of Bernard J. (Ann) Casey and Michael T. (Donna) Casey. She is the sister of Margaret (Benjamin) Tatanus of Troy and the late Adelaide Gallacchi, Albert and Romeo Casarotto. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday morning at 10:00 at St. Madeline Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd., Guilderland. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center, 47 New Scotland Ave., Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Alda M. Casey.
