Alden E. Leger

Alden E. Leger, 56, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.

Alden was born on January 10, 1969, in Niskayuna to Elaine C. (Pierce) Leger and the late Frederick A. Leger. He was so named after his maternal grandfather Alden E. Pierce, a WWII Navy veteran.

Alden was a welder for West End Iron Works in Colonie and had previously worked as a laborer. He enjoyed various skills in carpentry, welding, repurposing metals and furniture. He found pleasure in simple joys of cooking, music, movies, family and friends. He loved animals and rescued cats from the streets over the years.

What others would discard, he would treasure.

He is survived by his mother, Elaine. He devoted time caring for her and her home. He is survived also by his older sister Sharon and younger brother Christopher.

Predeceased by his grandparents Thomas and Ester Danforth. He has gone to join them in eternity. His death was sudden, and he was taken from us way too soon. He will be missed.

A Celebration of Life and burial will be held privately at a later date.
