Alex Boykin

Albany – Alex Junior Boykin, passed away Monday November 3, 2008 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Boykin was born in Clinton, NC. He moved to Albany as a young man and has called it home for almost fifty years. Mr. Boykin worked for Albany Medical Center Hospital for thirty years. He enjoyed collecting antiques, jaw jacking, gardening and sitting outside, under his umbrella, during the summer months.

He is survived by his children; Doshie Davis, Clarence "Tubb" Newton, Thomas Ledell (Donna) Boykin and Kimdo Bethel Boykin all of Albany and Renee Williams of Syracuse. He is also survived by his sister Mary Boykin and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Boykin was predeceased by his wife of 47 years Willadean Boykin, daughter Faye Cook and sister Dorothy Boykin.

A funeral service will be held 7:00pm Thursday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Visitation will precede the service from 6:30 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be 1:00pm Saturday at Snow Hill Cemetery, Clinton, NC.
