Alexine Wilson

ALBANY-Alexine "Terri" Wilson, 80 died Sunday afternoon, January 20, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY after a long, graciously courageous fight for her health. The forth of five children born to Nathaniel and Beatrice Davis in Harlem, NY, she graduated from Flushing High School then entered the work force as a bookkeeper for the Book of the Month Club and a fashion wholesaler in the garment district. She then began her 46 year marriage on March 15th, 1959 with Otis Wilson, Jr., who preceded her in death July 29, 2005. She received and Associates Degree in early childhood education from Houghton College and worked as a teacher for over 10 years. Though her heart continually flowed with an unwavering love and giving for her family and friends it is her heart, mind and life committed to Jesus Christ that defined her. She worked with her husband in missionary and pastoral ministry in New York, Oklahoma and Michigan through the Church of God and World Vision. Upon moving to Albany, NY in 2003, she tirelessly cared for her husband through his illness, embraced brownie baking, school pickups and volunteering at the Chamber of Commerce and Christ's Church. Her union was accented with the birth daughter Susan, wife of Dennis Simmons, parents of her cherished grandson Nigel. She is also survived by her adored nieces Roxanne Whitney (Jeff), Dorothy Norton (Ben), Willamina Dalton (Tony); nephews David Moses (Brenda), Chip Wilson and a host of cousins, extended family, friends and loved ones in Christ that she also leaves behind.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 5PM on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Christ's Church, Guilderland with a funeral service to follow at 5PM at the church.
Interment will be at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.
