ALBANY- On the evening of May 25, 2011, the Angel of Mercy was sent to Kingston Hospital and gently sealed the lips of our beloved father Alfin Shabazz El. His soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow, and pain to a place of eternal rest. Mr. Alfin Shabazz El was born Mr. Roland Curtis Gause on January 13, 1938 in Chadbourn NC to Garfield and Alice Gause. Alfin Shabazz El received his education at the Westside School. After school he ventured to Louisiana and began working off the Gulf Coast as a fisherman. He was a hard working man and never met any strangers. His strong ambition as an entrepreneur led him to NY in 1960 where he met and married the love of his life Ms. Corine Beverly. Alfin Shabazz El owned several businesses in NY such as Frank's Soul Food Restaurant, Franks Fuller up Gas Station, and Franks Auto body Garage. Also known as The Old King, Alfin Shabazz El loved to paint, fish, and play chess & checkers at his garage.
Alfin Shabazz El leaves to cherish fond memories one daughter, Nadine Bellamy of Chadbourn NC. Two Sons, Equality Shabazz Allah (She-mecca Rena Quickley) & Russell Gause-Reality Shabazz Allah of Albany, NY. Two Stepsons, James Beverly & Noblemen Shabazz of Albany. Four stepdaughters, Carlitha Elliot, Mary Bowman, Veronica Richardson, all of Albany NY and Della Brown of Baltimore MD. Four sisters, Ms. Alma R. Malloy of Folcroft, PA, Mrs. Alice Chandler (Duke) of Schenectady, NY, Ms. Gloria Gause of Raleigh NC, and Minister Wanda Cromartie (Dexter) of Hartford, CT. Six Brothers, Equilla Gause, Rudolph Gause, Marshall Gause, all of Albany, NY. Leon Gause of Colonie NY, James Gause of West Coxsackie NY, Russell Gause of Chadbourn, NC. One God brother, Mr. Roland Gause Jr of Albany, NY. Thirty-Nine grandchildren, Twenty-Eight Greatgrand children. One Sister-In-Law, Enola Fritz Gause. Three Aunts, Two Uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
