Albany- Alfred G. Peart, Sr. died at home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, October 14, 2005. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Louis S. Peart, Sr. and Cecelia Peart. Alfred was a veteran of U.S. Army serving his country during WWII and also Korea. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #1019. Alfred is predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years Anna E. Peart and also two brothers Louis S. Peart, Jr. and Thomas Peart.
Alfred leaves behind to cherish his memory his children; Alfred G. Peart, Jr. and wife Lisa of Kentucky, Cecelia McDonald and husband Owen of Canandaigua, Mike Peart and wife Michelle of Castleton, and Richard Peart, Ethel Peart, Patrick Peart, Dorothy Harrington, Jeff Peart, Robert Peart and Anna Peart all of Albany. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his sister Clara Reittinger, brothers Gerald Peart and James Peart, his son-in-law Mike Harrington of New Jersey, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 9:00 AM at the Holy Family Parish (formerly St. Patrick's Church), Central Avenue, Albany. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 Pm at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45250-0301, in memory of Alfred G. Peart.
