COLONIE – Alfred V. Snyder, 77 passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at the Teresian House after a long illness.
Alfred was born on December 11, 1927 in Albany and was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Kane Snyder.
Alfred worked as an optical technician for American Optical in Latham for 37 years. He continued his career at Wallkill for the State of New York in industrial training for 13 years. He was an avid fisherman, was an artist enjoying painting and drawing. He also enjoyed traveling especially visiting Hawaii on two occasions.
Alfred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy E. Snyder; his son, Ken (Dale) Snyder of Syracuse; his daughter, Diane Cottone of Guilderland; his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Gina) Bogardus, Richard (Alexis) Bogardus and Dawn Snyder; his great grandsons, Brody and Aidan Bogardus; his sister, Marion Feeney of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at the Teresian House for the care given to Alfred and his family during his brief stay… they prove there are angels amongst us here on earth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clare's Church in Colonie. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
A calling hour will precede the mass from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.).
