Guilderland- Alfred E. "Butch" Watson, 51, passed away on Sunday, July, 17, 2016. Butch was born in Schenectady on March 1, 1965.
After graduating from Guilderland High School in 1983, Butch went on to work in the family business as an arborist for Star Tree Service. He would eventually buy the family business and establish himself as a leading arborist in the Capital Region. During his free time, Butch loved spending time with his son Brandon and his dogs Coco and Shredder. He was a devoted father, conscientious in his business, and extremely hard working. He also loved his morning coffee, RC cars, trips to the casino, and sharing special times with his family and close friends.
Butch is predeceased by his father Tony Watson. He is survived by his loving son Brandon Watson and his lifelong companion Lisa Vojnar. He is also survived by his parents Julian and Linda Housel; brothers, Edward "Jake" (Donna) Watson, Tony (Chris) Watson, and Kyle Housel; step-sister, Shelly Housel; nieces and nephews, Laci, Kirstyn, Jacob, Ryan, Kylee, Ethan, and Elijah; great-nephew, Thomas; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Al will be especially missed by the Swart family.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 from 5pm-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7pm at the funeral home.
