Alice A. Samsel
November 8, 1922 — January 28, 2014
Alice A. Samsel, 91, entered into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Alice was born in New City, NY to the late William and Catherine Smith. She moved to Selkirk with her husband, Robert and her family in the early 50's.
Alice enjoyed traveling with her late husband Robert, spending time with her family,especially her ice cream outings, shopping at Macys, reading and holiday decorating.
In addition to her parents Alice was predeceased by her husband, Robert G. Samsel and her five sisters.
Alice is survived by her daughters Carol Williams, Kathleen (Louis) Rivituso, Barbara (Donald) Smallwood, Patricia (Rusty) Fox, Alice (Joseph) DiStefano, her son Robert J. Samsel, twelve grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John's/St. Ann's Outreach Center, 88 Fourth Ave., Albany, NY 12202-1922 in Alice's memory.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 12:00 pm at St. Thomas the Apostle, 35 Adams Place, Delmar, NY 12054. Interment will follow the Mass at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Jolly Road, Glenmont. The family will receive friends for calling hours on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Church.
