ALBANY – Alice Elizabeth Stealey, 78, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born in Windsor, NY, she was the daughter of the late Conrad and Eunice (Cole) Jones. She graduated from Watervliet High School in 1947 and retired from SUNY Albany. She enjoyed her camp at Nassau, loved crafts and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Craft Club, the Red Hat Society and the Altamont VFW Post No. 762 Auxiliary.
Alice was the devoted wife of 60 years to Charles Ray Stealey; loving mother to Chuck (Betty) Stealey, Robert (Sandra) Stealey, David (Donna) Stealey, Donnie (Debbie) Stealey, Patty (Bill) Durand and Richard (Susan) Stealey She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and was a devoted friend to Joan Nowak, Joyce Chiarito and many others. She was predeceased by her son, James Stealey.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155 – south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
