Alice E. Ford

Alice E. Ford, 88, was called home to the Lord on December 13, 2023. Born on March 20, 1935, to the late Erenez and Margaret LaPointe.
Alice was predeceased by her loving husband and partner of 51 years, Grant P. Ford, Jr.

She graduated in 1952 from Cathedral Academy and later went on to work at the NYS Department of Social Services until her retirement in 1996.

She was loving, caring, kind and generous. She was loved and respected by all who knew her, and she would find the good in everyone; she never spoke an unkind word. Alice valued spending time with family. In her younger years she enjoyed square dancing, camping, hiking, traveling, and was an avid reader. In the summer months you would find Alice and Grant outside tending to and admiring their flower gardens. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She enjoyed decorating and buying gifts for everyone.

Alice is survived by her cherished children, Mike Reagan, William (Rona) Reagan, James (Linda) Ford of CT., Stephen Ford of FL., and Laura Milligan of FL., eleven grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, as well as many relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Alice was predeceased by her sister, Mary LaPointe, and grandson, Joshua Reagan.

Calling hours will take place on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 10:00am in the Shrine Church of Our Lady of the Americas followed by burial in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
