Alice M. Nicholson
December 25, 1941 — February 19, 2022
Alice M. Nicholson, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Rosewood Nursing Home with her loving family by her side. Alice was the daughter of the late James and Clara (VanAlstyne) Smith. Alice was the devoted wife to the late Walter F. Nicholson. They were married over 47 years.
Alice retired from New York State as a Medical Coder after many years.
Alice was a member of The American Legion Gerald O'Neil Post #1683 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Rensselaer Aeries #4446.
She enjoyed going to Casinos, going on vacations, working on puzzle books, puzzles, watching Walker and spending time with her family and loved cooking for them.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Alice was predeceased by her son, James Nicholson.
Alice is survived by her children; Margaret A. (Mark) Maxwell, Anthony (Kathy) Nicholson and Walter Nicholson. Her daughter-in-law Kathy Nicholson. She is the proud grandmother of Michele, Gina, Jessica, Krystal, Kayla, Kirsten, Brandon; her great grandchildren, Evan, Tomas, Robert, Cierra and Cody. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery, Selkirk, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to the Community Hospice 295 Valley View Blvd, Rensselaer, NY 12144 or to Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation 284 Troy Road, East Greenbush, NY.12144 attn: Resident Council in Alice's memory.
