COLONIE – Alice Ruth Drakeford, 78, was called from labor to reward on July 24, 2014 at her home. She was born in Bethune, SC on July 19, 1936. Alice was the daughter of the late Reverend Charlie E. and Bertha B. McCoy.
Alice leaves behind her children, Ralph, Bernice, Nancy, Donald and Cynthia; siblings Mary Francis Brice; Jeanette Mackey-Hackett, Bessie Gross, Betty McCoy-McCord, Pearlie Price, Rev. Willie McCoy, George McCoy and Harry McCoy, and a host of friends and relatives.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Walls Temple AME Zion Church, 27 Delaware Street, Albany. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
