GUILDERLAND- Alice A. Wyld (Marinelli), 89, passed away on January 25, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Clement and Ida Marinelli and was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Herman W. Wyld in 2015 and her grandson Thomas Christopher Wyld in 1989.
She was a graduate of the Cathedral Academy. Over her 45 year career, Alice worked for the Cortland Teachers College, John Schoonmaker-Attorney at Law, the NYS Mental Health Department, the National Autistic Society and the NYS Nurses Licensing Dept.
Alice was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Guilderland. She was a member of the Italian American Community Center, as she was very proud of her Italian heritage.
She enjoyed bowling, bingo, and traveling. She loved the ocean, vacationing often in Maine and Cape Cod. She had traveled to Italy 3 times to visit relatives. She loved cats. She was an avid collector of elephant figurines. She was a great Italian cook and she would remind you of it.
Alice was the loving mother of Richard (Susan) Wyld of Cohoes, Thomas (Mary) Wyld of Scotia and Kathleen Bond of Halfmoon; grandmother of Daniel (Emily) Wyld of Kingston, Samuel Wyld of Binghamton, Joseph (Kelsey) Wyld of Rotterdam and Sarah Bond of Pittstown; great grandmother of Melissa Bruno, Trace Bruno, Zofia Bruno, Maximus Wyld of Kingston, Ryleigh Wyld and Avery Wyld of Rotterdam. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Wednesday February 1, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her funeral service following at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alice's memory may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204.
