Aline L. Emslie, a resident of Eddy Village Green Beverwyck, formerly of Loudonville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2023 with her daughters by her side. She was 100 years young.
She was born in Quebec moved to Barre VT with her family as a child. She graduated from Spaulding High School, Class of 1941 and married William Conrad Emslie in 1949. They relocated to Loudonville in 1960.
Aline was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Lafreniere. In addition to her husband Conrad, who passed in 1987, she was predeceased by her siblings, Antoinette, Henry, Arthur, Gaston, Loretta, Gerard and Robert.
Aline is survived by her loving daughters, Kathleen (Joseph) Leitgeb and Karen (Thomas Minich) Wolanin; grandchildren Allison (Jeffrey) Abdelnour, Eric (Shannon) Wolanin, Meredith (Daniel) Gaucher and Timothy Wolanin; great grandchildren Austin & Addison Abdelnour and Lily & Elizabeth Gaucher; and many nieces and nephews.
Although a stay at home mom when her daughters were growing up, Aline held many office related positions in her adult life, starting at Rock of Ages Granite Company in Barre and eventually retiring from the Albany Times Union Circulation Department. Aline loved to knit, crochet and do all kinds of craft work. She was known for her baking skills. Everyone loved her orange cookies and special chocolate desserts. She enjoyed traveling, with Cape Cod being her favorite vacation destination. Aline delighted in attending her grandchildren's sporting events and was their biggest fan. She was a woman of unwavering faith with a special devotion to Kateri Tekakwitha.
The family wishes to thank The Terrace and Eddy Village Green at Beverwyck for their excellent care and for the compassion they showed, along with Community Hospice, in her final days.
A Calling hour will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Rd, Latham, New York on Wednesday June 28, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am at the church. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Our Lady of the Assumption Memorial Fund, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Rd, Latham, NY or to the Community Hospice Foundation 310 S. Manning Boulevard, Albany, NY 12208 in Aline's memory.
