Allen E. Dorwin

CLIFTON PARK-Allen E. Dorwin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, went to heaven on January 8th, 2014, at the age of 92, to join Jesus Christ and General Jackson whom he espoused to be both good men. He lived a rich, full life, and was loved by the many people whose lives he touched. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, as a pilot, flying C47 transport planes over the European theatre of operations during World War II, and earned the distinguished flying cross. After the war, he became a commercial pilot for Heckett Engineering, and finished his career with the FAA as an Aviation Safety Inspector. He was a member of the pilot's fraternal organization of The Quiet Birdmen, of both the Albany and Long Island hangars. A life member of the NRA, he was active in the Clifton Park Rod and Gun Club and competed at the National Bullseye Pistol Matches in Camp Perry, Ohio at the Masters Level with the Tri-County Pistol Team of Butler, Pennsylvania. We will miss his loving presence, his passion for life, and his amazing sense of humor. We are comforted by the knowledge that he will be reunited in heaven with all his loved ones who passed before him. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Marie (Connie), his daughter Pamela, his son Rodney (Karen), granddaughters Kacie (Chris) and Kelly, and his great grandchildren Charlotte, Caroline and Killian. Services will be private at the request of the family. Donations may be made in his name to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 by those who wish to honor his memory.
