Allen D. Hannaford

December 12, 1945 — December 27, 2017

Albany~

Allen Hannaford of South Portland, Maine and Albany, NY vanquished his toughest foe, cancer, at break of day on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. He has realized his lifelong goal of joining the chorus of the angels in heaven.

The oldest child of Arletta (Piers) Hannaford and Charles Hannaford, Allen was predeceased by his parents and younger sister, Jill (Tony) Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathleen McHale Hannaford, his son, Christopher Bartlett, and sister-in-law Mary Ellen Trudo. Also left behind to mourn are his brother, Greg, sisters Pam Nye and Gaye Dawn Hannaford. We know he will also be missed by his cherished friend and daughter-in-law Nicole (Tom) Volungus. Allen was the proudest papa to Kate Mary McMahon, Devlin and Alexandrea Volungus, Kevin and Rebecca Bartlett, and great grandpa to Damien Dnike. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The funeral mass will be held at the Church of Christ the King, 20 Sumter Ave., Albany, at 10 AM on Tuesday, January 2, 2017 where Allen was a very active participant. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Christ the King Church or Community Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
