Alyce Messler of Ballston Lake, left us on February 10, 2010 to join her beloved husband and cherished dogs in heaven, after battling cancer.
Born in Brooklyn in 1920, to the late Alfred W. and Rose Braun, Alyce graduated from Sewanaka High School and lived on Long Island for most of her life. She and her husband were very active in the Order of the Eastern Star, Boxer Club of Long Island and helped form Boxer Rescue. Alyce moved to Malta in 1986 and was active with the Republican Party of Saratoga, Malta Seniors and Christians Woman's Club.
She is survived by two sons, Robert W. Messler Jr. (Joan) of Ballston Lake and David Messler Sr. (Kathryn) of Amsterdam, seven grandchildren, David Messler Jr. (Tricia) of Maryland, Jason Messler (Stephanie) of Levittown, Victoria Kaufman (Avrum) of Manhattan, Kerri Messler of Cropseyville, Craig Hills of Albany, Robert W. Messler III (Samantha) of Alaska, and Steven Ogden Messler of Amsterdam, and two great grandchildren, William Messler of Alaska and Abigail Messler of Levittown.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 7:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Interment will be on Tuesday at 2:00pm at Calverton National Cemetery, Long Island.
