Amy P. Fey

December 16, 1949 — May 9, 2016

ALBANY_Amy Patricia Fey age 66 of Albany, NY passed away peacefully among family and friends on May 9, 2016. She was born December 16, 1949 in Syracuse NY, the daughter of the late Walter L. Fey, and Kathleen (Kay) Fey currently residing in Fayetteville NY.
Amy graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius H.S. in 1968, received a B.A. degree from Nazareth College of Rochester in 1972 and an M.B.A. from the University at Albany in 2000. She was also a Senior Certified Human Resources Professional (SHRM-SCP).
Amy had an illustrious career in Human Resources at The Research Foundation of SUNY, Albany Medical College, The American Red Cross, Health Research Inc., CHP, Racemark International, and finally Value Options where she retired in December 2011.
Amy began a passionate and long lasting courtship with Warren A. Winslow Jr. in the summer of 1976 and was extraordinarily patient until Warren finally pulled the trigger and married the girl on July 27, 2007 resulting in almost 10 more wonderful years of wedded bliss.
During those tumultuous and wonderful years Amy was an avid follower of the Schenectady Reds Rugby Football Club. She even took up the game herself and was a member of the Empire Games Silver Medal winning women's rugby team. A bit later she took up the game of golf. She was a member of the Western Turnpike G.C., served numerous terms as President of the Women's Assn. and was currently Vice President of same. As the year's rolled by, Amy's golf game continued to improve and she was a 3 time Sr. Ladies' Champion and was the 2015 Ladies' Super Senior Champion. Amy was also a committed volunteer for the New York State Golf Association and a long-time member of the Northeast Women's Golf Association (NEWGA).
Never one to warm up before a round, Amy's red Mustang GT convertible could be heard rumbling up the Western Turnpike entrance road mere minutes before her assigned Tee time. Playing with the girls at Western Turnpike was one of the biggest joys in Amy's life and their on course birdie celebration Fireball shots were a particular highlight.
Amy totally enjoyed traveling, cruising and her annual winter vacations in St Maarten. She and her husband Warren loved taking long road trips, enjoying the pace and the freedom to linger whenever the mood struck. Christmas trips would begin in Albany, proceed to her Mom's house in Fayetteville NY, continue down to Corsicana TX to visit granddaughter Victoria. The journey would then proceed across the gulf coast and then around the state of Florida. Visiting and golfing with friends and family, before finally making their way back up north zig zagging to the locations of more friends and family.
Amy was an avid fan of the U Albany athletic program, attending many games of the various teams. She and her husband Warren established a scholarship for athletes pursuing degrees in the Business school.
Amy is survived by her adoring, heartbroken husband Warren A. Winslow Jr., stepson Warren A. Winslow III (Chip), daughter in law Janine Winslow, granddaughter Victoria Winslow, her mother Kay Fey, sisters Linda Grigoleit (Thomas), Kathleen (Nina) Steinbrecker (Chuck), brothers Paul E Fey, Walter L Fey (Jan Bergstrom), nieces Laura Grigoleit, Sarah Grigoleit, Jayna Fey, nephews, Christopher Fey, Luke Fey, Zack Fey, aunt Carolyn Fey and numerous cousins.
Amy's husband Warren would like to thank Rita Johnson, Rosemary Reichenbach, Kathy Canestrini, Elaine Neiss, Sue Chambers, Michelle O'Connor and Amy's other friends and family for helping him through this difficult time. He especially expresses his gratitude to St. Peter's Hospital and the staff in the Hospice for making Amy's last few days as comfortable and peaceful as they could be.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Amy Fey, Warren Winslow Scholarship (Checks payable to the U. Albany Foundation)
A service for friends and family followed by a celebration of Amy's life will be held in the ballroom at Western Turnpike Golf Course on Sunday, May 15 at 3PM.
