Andrea H. Ashley

Troy- Andrea Ashley, 56, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, January 22, 2021 with her loving soulmate and sister by her side. Andrea was the daughter of the late Ronald Kearns and Dorothy Jensen. Andrea was the beloved partner to Michael McBride and they have been together for years.

After graduating high school, Andrea worked various jobs in the automotive, landscaping, and retail industries. Her most recent job for the last ten plus years was in the Lawn and Garden Department in a retail store in Rensselaer, New York where she had the opportunity to work with flowers that she loved.

Andrea had a passion for jewelry and was well known for her collection. Andrea was also an avid collector of rocks and crystals. Andrea was a long term member in the Capital District recovery community where she helped many women enter into a new life of sobriety. Andrea was Happy, Joyous and Free. Andrea loved to travel and always looked forward to her annual vacation on the Jersey Shore.

In addition to Michael, Andrea is survived by her sister, Ronda L. Kearns; brother, Ronald J. Kearns; nieces, Yasmine and Noora Ahmed; nephew, Hani Ahmed; and many friends in the community. She was well loved and will be greatly missed.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York 12189 on Tuesday January 26, 2021 from 5pm to 8pm. A celebration of life will be held at the Funeral Home at 9am on Wednesday January 27, 2021 with a burial to immediately follow at Graceland Cemetery. Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
