ALBANY – Andrea Rodriguez, 90, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Andrea was born on January 7, 1920 in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. She has resided in Albany for the past two years, prior to that she lived in New York City for 68 years. She enjoyed playing bingo and crossword puzzles and cooking.
Andrea was a proud and giving woman, who enjoyed being surrounded by her loving family. We will always remember her feisty character.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the nurses in ICU for all their care and support.
Andrea is survived by her daughters, Elsie (Ralph) Muriel of Albany, Lillian (Vincent) Denton of Riverview, Fla., and Minerva Rodriguez of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico; her grandchildren, Deborah Morales-Rivera, Janice Morales, Doreen (Carlos) Muriel and Vanessa (Andrew) Garcia-Dick and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. Clare's Church in Colonie where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Andrea Rodriguez.
