Andrea "Shanta" Williams was born to the late Ms. Debora Williams and Mr. Earl Mason Jr. in Brooklyn, New York. Andrea pursued higher education and proudly earned her associate degree in Social Work, reflecting her lifelong passion for helping others.
A Brooklyn native, Andrea relocated to Upstate New York in February 2020. She began working as a Direct Support Assistant for New York State Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), dedicating her career to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Her kindness and selflessness touched everyone she met, whether strangers, friends, or family.
Family was Andrea's top priority, and she always put her loved ones first.
Andrea was an incredible cook. Known for bringing people together with her meals and her impeccable fashion sense. She loved family outings and cherished seeing the people around her happy and thriving— her smile would light up any room.
Andrea was an incredible mother to Nia and Tayquan and a devoted aunt to Jayce and Jaiere. Her love for her family knew no bounds-she would do anything for them. Andrea fought tirelessly to support and protect her loved ones, and in return, they stood by her with unwavering loyalty. She took immense pride in their accomplishments and hard work, celebrating every success as if it were her own.
A devoted member of Higher Hope C.O.G.I.C. in Troy, NY. Andrea faithfully served as a youth leader and choir member under the leadership of Pastor Darryl D. Cade. Sr. Her dedication to her faith and her church community reflected her loving, generous, and vibrant spirit.
Andrea was predeceased by her beloved parents. Ms. Debora Williams and Mr. Earl Mason Jr.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her children. Nia and Tayquan: her siblings, Kevin. Faith, Shamone, and Cassandra: her cherished aunt Tanya: her uncle Kenneth; her nephews, Jayce and Jai’ere: her godfathers Michael and Porter: her godchildren, D'kari, Madisyn, Maya, and Kelsie: and her best friends. Melissa, Carissma, Louis. and Omar.
Andrea was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her family. friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a reflection of love faith, and selflessness, and her memory will continue to inspire those she touched
