JOHNSONVILLE-Andrew G. Marro, 55 passed away suddenly and peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany. Andrew was born and raised in Troy, NY, the son of the late Nicholas and Philomena (Lanzillo) Marro. He served with honor and distinction in the US Army, where he was deployed to Italy. While in Italy he was awarded an Army Commendation Medal for a heroic rescue. That rescue and the many which would follow it, depict a life of service above self and a love for all human life. Andrew was a volunteer for Johnsonville Ambulance, the Owen's Corning fire brigade, Haz Mat, and ERT and volunteered with the Red Cross where he taught others how to save lives. For the past 26 years his career was dedicated to Owen's Corning in Feura Bush, where his union presidency and committee service garnered respect, and his warming laugh built lifelong friendships. He was an avid sportsman, a patriot and strong supporter of the Second Amendment. He also enjoyed camping, gardening, cooking for others, and making everyone laugh. Most of all, Andrew loved his family and lived every moment of his life for them and with them.
Andrew is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years Gail (Beach) Marro; his cherished daughters Tara Zinzow (Justin), Andrea Snyder (Michael Williams, Jr.) and Faith Ann Marro (William "Billy" Osher); and by his loving grandchildren Ryan Andrew Snyder, Dustyn Snyder and Abigail Snyder. He also leaves behind his sisters Theresa Bulmer (John), Philomena Marro and Rosemary Miorin (Joseph); his aunt Philomena Riccardi; mother-in-law Leona Beach; brother-in-law William Beach, III (Linda); sisters-in-law Laura Rzeszuto (Robert), Sharon Kemprowski (Charles), and Lisa Hatch (Lewis III); and by many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Andrew was predeceased by his brother Andrew G. Marro and by his father-in-law William Beach.
