Andrew J. Kanser Jr. (Andy) 68, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

He spent his final moments here, loved and surrounded by family. Andrew was the son of the late Andrew J. Kanser Sr. and Marie Brisson Kanser.

Andrew was born and raised in Cohoes, N.Y.. He attended Cohoes Schools, and was a high school graduate. He learned many trades, was a union laborer, a skilled brick layer, and retired from the Rensselaer County courthouse in Troy, N.Y. Throughout Andy's life he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors; being in nature. He was very creative and artistic. He had many hobbies, some of his favorites were horticulture, building models, and bird watching.

Andrew is survived by his Children, Danielle (Jason) Kanser, Nicole Vautrin, Andrew (Jamie) Kanser III and Dylan Remington; 10 Grandchildren, Aubrey, Jeffrey, Ava, Maximus, Elias, Josiah, Joshua, Isaac, Joel, and Samuel; Siblings, Mary Ann Tetrault, Christine (Michael) McGraw, Thomas (Kim) Kanser, Pamela (Thomas) Baillargeon, Donald (Mercy) Kanser, Albert (Marsha) Kanser. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Andrew is predeceased by Brothers, Joseph, David; Sisters, Paula, Mary Kanser; son, John DeRouville.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral and Cremations, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 11:00am - 12:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00pm.

In lieu of flower, the family request that donations be made to a no-kill animal shelter of your choice.
