Andrew W. Haller. Jr.

COLONIE – Andrew W. Haller Jr., 57, of Colonie, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2009 surrounded by his loving family at Westchester Medical Center after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Andy was born in Albany and has been a Colonie resident for all of his life. He was a1969 graduate of Bishop Gibbons High School, HVCC and the Capitol Institute Technology of Maryland After several years in the medical support field, Andy has worked the past fifteen years at St. Peters Hospital as a Sr. clinical technology technician where he was instrumental in the implementation of the Smart Pump program.
He was an active member in the Fuller Road Fire Department for 39 years. He served in a multiple of active and civil positions throughout the department. A life member and longtime recording secretary, Andy was past Fireman of the Year and Assistant Chief. He was an integral part of the development of the First Responder Program and had supervised the Fire Department Safety Committee. He cherished his longtime friends at Fuller Rd. and the kindness and support at Pine Grove United Methodist Church.
Andy had a passion for golf and the New York Giants. He enjoyed woodworking, antique auctions, New England bed & breakfasts, vacationing in Ludlow, Vermont, Cartersville, GA and spending Sunday evenings with family at his Mom's.
He is the beloved son of Joan Dale Haller and the late Andrew W. Haller Sr. He is the loving and devoted companion of Jackie Kot Meyer. Andy is the devoted father of Robert N. Haller (Joanne) and JoAnn Foley (Ryan) and special Dad to Christopher Meyer (Jill) and Julie Barrett (Dewayne). He is the brother of Dale Haller, Michael Haller (Sue), David Haller (Barbara) and the late Robert Haller. Proud grandfather of Briana, Jakob, Katie, Julian, Bowen, Cassidy, Trenton and Carson. Uncle of Kristen, Kevin, Danny, Alexa and Ryan.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 9:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to Our Lady of Mercy Church at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
