SCHENECTADY - On June 7, 2021, Angel Noel Alvarez, devoted follower of Jesus, husband, and father of four went to be with the Lord at the age of 76.
Angel was born on April 20, 1945 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to Ángel and Eduarda (Acevedo) Álvarez and siblings: Eduardo (d), Armindo (d), Gilberto, Jorge (d), and Myrna. He came to live in New York after high school and eventually began driving buses for CDTA, retiring after 28 years. He married Linda (Condor) and had 4 children: Kelly (Edward), Angie (Michael), Christina (Michael) and Angel. He was also a proud grandpa/abuelo to his grandkids: Michael, Sarah, Silas and Julian.
To say that Angel had joy would be an understatement. Having experienced God's forgiveness and grace through Jesus in 1977, he spent his life loving God, his family, the Yankees and the Mets, and sharing his faith and an occasional dad joke everywhere he went. He loved people and was so loved in return.
Angel was able to spend his very last moments on earth with his family, but now is experiencing the indescribable joy in the presence of his Heavenly Father.
A wake at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie is scheduled for 10:00 am - 12:30 pm on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 followed immediately by a funeral at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
