Angela Jean-Frances Markessinis, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 9, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn.
Angela was born on May 13, 1926 in Syracuse, NY a daughter to the late Vincent and Mary (Borello) Monforte, they resided on Butternut St. in Syracuse before moving to Albany as a child. Angela was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother who cherished her family. She worked at O'Connor's Restaurant, Hellman's Thruway House and with her husband in the restaurant business for many years. Angela was predeceased by her husband, Thomas L. Markessinis; son, Lawrence F. Markessinis; sisters, Doris Monforte and Josephine Piombino and brother, Vincent Monforte.
She is survived her children, Kathy Madden of Bay St. Louis Mississippi and Martin Makessinis, Sr. of Guilderland, New York; brothers, Ronald Monforte of Connecticut and Salvatore Monforte of California. Also survived by Dolores Monforte, Rose Marie Martel and Vincent Peter Monforte, all of Albany, New York, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 1:00pm at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will precede the service from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland, NY.
