Angela Shiek, 100, wife of the late Charles Shiek, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024.
Born April 16, 1924, in Albany, she was the youngest of 13 children born to Pasquale and Angela (Sidoti) Micare.
Angela, know to many as Angie, was very proud to have worked for New York State for 60 years. She reluctantly retired from NYS Department of Motor Vehicles at the age of 95 in 2019.
She was generous beyond belief to her family. Family always came first, and there was never a need left unmet. She often donated to animal shelters and supported Native American causes.
She loved her TV “stories” and loved to read romance novels and mysteries. She skipped the dirty parts and always read the last chapter first.
Angie is survived by her 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
