Angelina M. Anastasio, 61, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2016.
She was born on October 4, 1954 to Antonio and Giovannina (Lombardi) D'Agostino in Roccasicura, Italy. She spent her childhood living mostly in Italy, and in 1970 she relocated with her family to the U.S. and resided in Troy, NY.
Angie was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was known as "Nonna" to her grandchildren and "Zia" to her niece and nephews whom she doted on. She loved baking and was a wonderful cook. Angie had a wonderful sense of humor, she loved making those around her smile and laugh, she cherished her friendships and was a kind hearted and giving woman who was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone in need.
She was a charter member of the Albany Italian American Community Center and the Italian American Heritage Museum. Angie enjoyed giving back to her community, especially at All Saints Catholic Church. She always loved to participate in retreats traveling throughout U.S., Canada and France to visit various religious landmarks. Upon coming to America she worked at The Little Sisters of The Poor and valued her relationships within that community. She also worked at the Eddy Memorial.
The light and laughter she brought to the world will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.
Angelina is survived by her loving husband, Salvatore, of 23 years, her mother, Giovannina; her sister, Maria D'Agostino Fiset; her brother, Paul D'Agostino; her children, Benny (Deb) Anastasio, Anna (Chris) Raby, Marco Anastasio; her grandchildren, Giovanni and Bianca Anastasio; her nephews, Brian Jr. and Johnanthony Fiset; her niece, Giovanna D'Agostino; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph (Helen) Anastasio and Lorenzo (Antionette) Anastasio and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Antonio D'Agostino and her brother, Mario D'Agostino.
Friends and family are invited to call from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 9 am at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St, Albany, NY 12203. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.

Angie's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and support staff at Albany Medical Center and a special thank you to her doctors, Dr. Giuliano, Dr. Sunkin, Dr. Strumph, Dr. Iglow, Dr. Nigam and Dr. Higgins for the kindness and compassion shown to their family during her stay.
