Angelo Peter Lobo, 73 years old, passed away on Jan 22, 2013 at Colonie Manor. He was born in Masindi, Uganda, the son of Thomas Lobo and Mary S. Lobo. He was educated in Mumbai, India and went on to earn a doctorate in organic chemistry on a Fulbright scholarship at Indiana University. He worked at the New York State Department of Health until his retirement in 2004.
Dr. Lobo was an avid reader and an enthusiast of food and travel. He traveled in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. He amassed a large collection of photos of his travels and of the family.
He is survived by his wife Victoria, his sons Stephen and Michael, Michael's wife Valerie, granddaughters Mikayla and Gabrielle, his brothers Anthony and Albert, and sister Elizabeth, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1st from 5-7PM at the New Comer–Cannon Funeral Home (343 New Karner Road; Colonie, NY). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at All Saints Catholic Church (16 Homestead Street; Albany, NY) on Saturday, February 2nd at 9AM, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont, NY.
