COLONIE – Angelo R. Lello, Sr. 80, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Angelo was born on August 14, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Antonio and Francesca (Ciriminna) Lello. He worked for OTB in Albany as a maintenance supervisor for several years before retiring. He enjoyed trips to the casino, spending time with family and friends. He was a Mets and Jets fan and volunteered at the VA and Fisher House. He was a member of the Colonie Village Senior Center where he enjoyed taking everyone's pennies and a member of the Joseph E. Zaloga American Legion Post #1520.
Angelo is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Mabel M. (Garrow) Lello; his loving children, Fran Bradshaw, Angela (Chad) Stocking, Tony (April) Lello, and Angelo (Vanessa) Lello, Jr.; his cherished grandchildren, Justin Lello, Jason and Jonathan Morrison, David (Nichole) Brunzo, Jim (Michelle) Lello, and Kristen Morrison; his sister, Rosie Schwartzberg; his brothers-in-law, Pasquale Luongo and Andrew Garrow; special nephews, Andrew Garrow, Robert Heppelle, and Joey Garrow; his special niece, Belinda Garrow and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Katie Luongo, Ann Gerrish, and Adeline Aquri; his brothers, Frank, Patsy, Salvatore, and Edward Lello; his grandson, Aaron Bradshaw and his mother and father-in-law, Andy and Shirley Garrow.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Colonie EMS, Colonie Police, Albany Medical Center ER Dr.'s and nurses, VA Dr.'s and nurses, Fr. Joe at the VA, the management at Romano's Macaroni Grill and the gentleman who assisted with CPR.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, then to Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Angelo R. Lello, Sr.
