COLONIE - Ann Hogan Metzger, 81, of Colonie, formerly of Pleasant Valley passed away on July 10th, 2013 at St. Peter's Nursing Home in Albany.
Ann was born January 14th, 1932 in Troy, the daughter of the late Joseph and Miriam Hogan. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Troy. On January 30th, 1954 Ann married Raymond Metzger at St Patrick's Church in Troy. Mr. Metzger survives at home.
In addition to her devoted husband of 59 years, Ann is survived by her children John (Ellen) of Warwick, Joseph (Kathy) of Albany, Matthew (Joanne) of Gardiner; grandchildren Megan, Ryan, Joseph, Michael, Erin, and Kevin; Sisters Miriam (Larry) Ostwald and Cathy (David) Little; Brothers Jack Hogan, Frank (Dorothy) Hogan and Bill (Nancy) Hogan; Sister-in-law Shirley Hogan; several nieces and nephews.
Ann was predeceased by a son Raymond Metzger; brother Joseph Hogan; and sister-in-law Irene Hogan.
Ann was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting and various arts and crafts. She was a wonderful wife, mother and Nana who truly cherished time spent with her family. Previously she had taught religious education at St. Stanislaus Church Pleasant Valley. The family would like to offer special thanks to Barbara RN and Aide YaYa for their dedicated care and compassion.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:15 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to Christ Our Light Catholic Church, Loudonville at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 301 Hackett Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Ann H. Metzger.
