ALBANY – Ann Pozzuoli Lavdas, 83, of Albany, died peacefully in her sleep at home on May 4, 2007. She was the wife of the late Louis A. Lavdas, who died on April 25, 2000 and mother of the late Mary Ann Lavdas who died in 1948. Born in Hillsville, PA on February 15, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Immaculate and Samuel Pozzuoli. Ann was retired from New York State Dept. of Taxation & Finance. She was a loving mother that enjoyed her children and their families. Ann was a member of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church. She is survived by her three children, Helen (William) Koonz of Niskayuna, Alexandra (Robert) L. Davis of Clifton Park and Alexander (Maria) L. Lavdas of Gainesville, GA. She is the sister of Inez (Carl) Affagatto and Orlando (Janet) Pozzuoli. Also surviving are five grandchildren, William (Melissa) G. Koonz, II, Christian (Stephanie) Koonz, Catherine Ann Davis, Louis Lavdas and Courtney Lavdas; three great-grandchildren, Cassandra Koonz, William Koonz, III and Eleni Koonz and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and daughter, Ann was also predeceased by her brothers, Fr. Dominic, Joseph and Mario.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church at 10:00 a.m. Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Trisagion Service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband in Graceland Cemetery.
