June 23, 1931 — April 3, 2013

COLONIE-Anna Patricia (Mech) Kelly, 81, of Lishakill Rd. passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Anna was born in New York City, the daughter of the late Karol and Antonina Figurski Mech. She has resided in Colonie, NY for the past 46 years, coming from Halcott Center, NY, where she and her family ran a dairy farm. Prior to becoming a mother, Anna was a switchboard operator for New York Telephone. She was a member of St. Clare's Church, Colonie. Anna enjoyed bowling, traveling and camping. She was active with the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts. Her recent passion was quilting and she was a member of Colonie Quilts, Schenectady Quilt Guild and the Thursday Tearers. Family was Anna's priority in life. Anna and her husband enjoyed hosting their family reunions in Halcott Center, NY. Over 100 family and friends celebrated her 80th birthday party in 2011.
Anna is the beloved mother of JoAnn (Steve) Kelly Catsos of Ashley Falls, MA, Janice (Marv) Hammond of Saratoga Springs, Kevin (Tim Haller) Kelly of Coeymans and Keith (Joanne) Kelly of Inlet. She is the loving grandmother of Christopher, Ashleigh and Jennifer Catsos, Scott Hammond, Matty Kelly-Haller, and Brendan and Katie Kelly. Anna is also survived by her brother Karol (Kathy) Mech of Hancock, her sister Stella (Hilton) Kelly of Stamford, and by many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Kingsway Nursing Community for their exceptional care.
In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Stanley L. Kelly, her sister Helen Miller, half-brother Eddie Mech and by an infant daughter Jennifer Ann Kelly.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Anna.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8PM on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
Interment will be at Halcott Center Cemetery, Halcott Center, NY.
Calling hours and service will be held at Gormley Funeral Home, Phoenicia, NY at a later date.
