LOUDONVILLE- Anna L. Forst, 98, of Loudonville, passed away on Saturday October 4, 2008 at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Edward and Katherine Furlong Tappan. Anna was resident of Albany County her entire life.
She was in one of the first graduating classes of the Blessed Sacrament School. As a young woman, she worked as an operator with the former New York Telephone Company. Anna enjoyed feeding the birds and gardening. She wintered in Florida with her late husband and was a member of the Seven Springs Country Club there.
Anna was predeceased by her husband John G. Forst Sr.; her children, Joan Forst Trickey, John (Jack) Forst Jr. and James J. Forst Sr.; her sister, Dorothy Coons; and her grandsons, John G. Trickey and Robert Forst.
She is the beloved mother of Jean A. Milark and her husband Augie of Latham; Mother in law of Judi Forst; Cherished grandmother of Annie Piska, Karen Ada, Kim Davenport, Ruth, James and Michael Forst, Chris and Kelli Milark and Debbie Eckhardt. Great grandmother of Evan, Caitlyn, Lauren and Alena Piska, Adam Roberts, Jesse Davenport, Autumn Milark, Lee and Sara Trickey and Carolynn and Brendan Forst; Great-great grandmother to seven; and Cousin to Jerry and Bev Lundberg. She is also survived by her "Kitty".
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 10:30 at Blessed Sacrament Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be at Memorys Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Legion, Helderberg Post 977, PO Box 461, Altamont, NY 12009 to benefit Devon Purzycki, a 5 year old battling leukemia.
