ALBANY – Anna "Oma" Loesch, 96, of Albany, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Kula, Yugoslavia and was the daughter of the late Franz and Katerina Eckmayer.
Anna operated her family store in Yugoslavia before moving to the United States with her family in 1956. She was a communicant of St. Teresa of Avila Church. Oma was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her loving family. She was predeceased in 1989 by her husband Joseph Loesch.
Anna is the beloved mother of Franz (Terry) Kraus, Linde (Brian) McDonagh and the late Heidi Scholz. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 8:30 Tuesday morning at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. Clare's Church at 9 a.m. where a Masss of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
