Anna Marie Ippolito

July 13, 1926 — December 5, 2012

COLONIE – Anna M. (Zorr) Ippolito passed away peacefully at home, on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.

Anna was born in Albany, New York; she lived for most of her years in Colonie. She was the daughter of the late Joseph & Esther Zorr. She graduated from Roessleville High School in 1944. She then graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. Anna worked as a registered nurse for 50 years. Most recently Anna retired in 1990 from SUNY Albany University Health Center, after 23 years of service, where she worked as the head nurse of the infirmary.

Anna was an active member of the Memorial Hospital Nurses Alumni Association. She was also a member of the National Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband and friends. Anna was an avid NY Yankees fan. She devoted much time and most enjoyed her beloved children, grandchildren and great grandson. Anna supported the National Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. She loved to travel. One of her most memorable trips was her visit to Israel with her daughter and family. She brought a sense of love and happiness to all who knew her and always greeted everyone with a smile and her beautiful blue eyes.

Survivors include, her loving husband of 60 years, Tommy Ippolito, and three devoted daughters, Lisa Ippolito, Nancy Lawler, (Jim) and Tina Cornell (Roger). She is also survived by the shining stars in her life, her five grandchildren; Jamie Lawler (Kim), Roger, Tyler, Carter and Juliana Cornell and great grandson Colton Lawler. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Nancy (Ippolito) Haggerty and her husband Jack. She was predeceased by her sisters, Esther Lawlor and Clara Schmidt and survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks and gratitude to the staff at NYDOH and Hospice for their loving care of Anna.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7PM on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, December 10, 2012 at St. Clare's Church, Colonie.
Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont
Memorial contributions may be made to The Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Anna.
