Annabelle Sanford, 99, of North Syracuse, NY, passed away on July 15, 2021 at the Elderwood Long Term Care Facility in North Creek, NY.
Annabelle Esther Slater was born in Ithaca, NY on March 7, 1922, the oldest daughter of four girls to Alexander Charles Slater and Ester Gustava Talhofer Slater. She was married Gerald Ernest Sanford in 1947 and were married for 61 years.
Annabelle enjoyed the sports of golf, tennis, swimming and skiing. She was a pianist, a watercolor artist, wine maker, gardener, and avid reader. During her work career, she was a Secretary for Cornell University during the 1940s and Secretary for the Dean at SUNY Potsdam in the late 1940s to early 1950s. Annabelle was proud to have lived independently at home until she was ninety-nine.
Annabelle is survived by her children, Linda Sanford, Caron Koll, Eric Sanford, and Thomas Sanford; her grandchildren, Sarah Koll, Carly Koll, Janine Desmond, Stephanie Sanford, Jesse Sanford, Cailin Sanford, and Judson Sanford.
Annabelle is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald and her sisters, Marion Ball, Janet Stephens, and Carol Lukic.
The Sanford family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Elderwood in North Creek for the care and attention they gave our mom during her final days.
